Brian Derrick Named as Summa Health System Chief Financial Officer
October 19, 2011 – (Cleveland, Ohio)—paul~lawrence associates are pleased to announce that Brian Derrick has been hired by Summa Health System in Akron as its new Chief Financial Officer effective September 14th. He will be responsible for the overall financial leadership and related strategy for this large, integrated delivery system healthcare entity. paul/lawrence associates were retained by Summa to undertake the national search, with Larry S. Imely, CEO and Suzanne Conroy, SVP as the search consultants managing the assignment.
Brian Derrick, CPA will join Summa Health System on November 8, 2011 as System Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. For the past eight years, Brian was the Chief Financial Officer for Albert Einstein Healthcare Network in Philadelphia, Pa. Prior to that, he held various finance leadership positions at the Jefferson Health System in Philadelphia and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Health System, one of the largest integrated healthcare systems in the United States.
Larry Imely stated that, "The search was a collaborative one, with extremely strong involvement of members of the Board and senior leadership, intent on finding the very best financial professional to serve in a financial leadership role at Summa. We believe Brian meets and exceeds that requirement."
